Hiring B. Chaney Improvements to complete a a whole house rehab project on your home might be better than selling and moving.
Most areas in the greater Charleston, SC area are wonderful places to live. Usually the location is good, because of the convenient commute to work. Many of the older neighborhoods are appreciated because of the old Live Oaks and the longtime residents. However, people sometimes get tired of an outdated house, or they just want a change from the same-old, same-old.
There is the option to sell and buy a newer house or different style home. But the option of doing a whole house rehab project might be a better alternative than packing up. This is a great option for those that don’t want to leave the things they love about where they live.
Plus, a rehab means you don’t have to pack and unpack!
Brad Chaney and his team of building professionals are in the midst of completing such a project on a typical Lowcountry home. The owners had used the house for about 20 years as a vacation home. They have now relocated from Atlanta and will live in Charleston full time. They wanted to invest heavily in this raised-house that had an open front porch and was in need of remodeling.
The project includes replacing the shingle roof with metal, enclosing the porch and complete reconstruction of the kitchen, baths and floors. The photos available for this article only include the porch, due to the project still being in progress.
