This new home was made better after B. Chaney Improvements completes an addition that makes the main level much more comfortable.
Aura and her family liked their home when they purchased the brand new dwelling a few years ago. But they quickly realized the main level was not laid out to their liking. She described the space as “everything crammed into one area” that wasn’t comfortable.
“The addition is only 600 square feet, but it feels so open now,” she said.
She had a family connection to B. Chaney Improvements owner Brad Chaney. After a meeting to discuss what Aura and her husband had in mind, Brad connected them to an architect who designed exactly what they needed and wanted. That design included a dining room, office, sunroom and breakfast nook that leads to a porch and patio.
“We love it,” she exclaimed, while noting that she and her husband no longer have to share an office.
And the project went as smoothly as she could have hoped.
“Brad did a really good job of managing everything. I’m a Type A personality and I never felt the need to step in,” she said with a laugh. She added that even when there were supply chain issues that would have caused long delays, Brad was able to make adjustments to the plan to keep the project moving without compromising quality.
Aura was also able to see the difference between a custom builder’s work and that of a tract builder. Describing her home as “builder grade,” she said the materials and craftsmanship found in the addition are incomparable.
“Everything he (Brad) does is with amazing quality.”
