February is Black History Month, National Heart Month and Meeting with Builders.

Only a month removed from making new year’s resolutions, it’s time to take note an important health celebration that coincides with roses and chocolate candy. February is also a time to reflect on the important contributions of Black Americans over the centuries. There is great information below on these celebrations and some important information if you’re thinking about a building project in the Charleston, S.C. area.

National Heart Month brings attention to one of the country’s biggest health crises. Heart disease is the number one killer of men and woman in the U.S. However, there is some good news. That good news is you can make a change and live a healthier and longer life. Below are a list of recommendations from the American Heart Association that will help.

February is Black History MonthThe origins of celebrating the accomplishments of Black Americans starts in 1915. But it wasn’t until 1976 that government leaders brought national recognition to annually celebrating pioneers like boxer Jack Johnson, activist Rosa Parks, Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, Scientist George Washington Carver and so many more.

Charleston is a wonderful city with incredible sites connected to early beginnings of many African American families in the U.S. McLeod Plantation Historical Site, Aiken-Rhett House, Charleston City Market and many others.
